one of our new guys offered me a computer setup minus a motherboard and im having some trouble finding 1 to go with the cpu he has its a gateway amd phenom 2 6 core 1035t .if anyone could help me find the right board that would be awesome

Looks like the 960GC motherboard is compatible with that processor without any bios update. The A785GM is compatible with that CPU with a bios update. I would wait for someone else to post Duncan as I've never done anything with AMD CPU's before.

MSI 990FXA-GD65V2 is what I'm using with my Phenom II 965 BE. Great board!
