One last stupid question, do I have to have some special envelope or box to ship this in, or can I just use any little old box with any handy packing materials I have on hand with no other labels as long as the RMA thing is on it?

Video card in, my FPS in MWO went from the 30-40 range to 60ish, it only slows when there's either lag or a cpu buildup

Memory installed
power supply check

CPU... couple small snags....

To start with the new intell fan that came in the box has these weird plastic drywall screw looking fasteners, but the mobo has standard screw holes, I figured I'd use my old fan for awhile till i find some fresh grease, just watch the temp, no big deal(the old fan actually has a bigger heat sink so I think i'd use it anyway), but I go to power up the pc with the new cpu in it, no boot, not even  the bios startup... I put the old one back in, it worked, and looked at the specs..... ruh roh:

relevant info:

Socket type: LGA 1155

Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:Processor   TDP
Core i7-2600 (Sandy Bridge) quad core   95W
Core i7-2600s (Sandy Bridge) quad core   65W
Core i5-2500 (Sandy Bridge) quad core   95W
Core i5-2500s (Sandy Bridge) quad core   65W
Core i5-2500t (Sandy Bridge) quad core   45W
Core i5-2400 (Sandy Bridge) quad core   95W
Core i5-2400s (Sandy Bridge) quad core   65W
Core i5-2390t (Sandy Bridge) quad core   35W
Core i5-2300 (Sandy Bridge) quad core   95W
Core i3-2120 (Sandy Bridge) dual core    65W
Core i3-2100 (Sandy Bridge) dual core    65W
Core i3-2100t (Sandy Bridge) dual core    35W

The thing I got:

Intel Core i5-3470 Processor + Fan( 1)

Now it's the same interface, L1155 or whatever, but I dunno if my i5 3470 will work with this mobo or if I just got a lemon or if I botched the install... Will i need some sort of bios upgrade or whatnot or am i hosed... I haven't kept up with CPU stats in a long while so all the numbers and stuff don't mean much to me anymore... If we can't get this working lemme know if i need to return this thing before some type of deadline too... I hate to waste the part...

I'll fuck with the video card in the meantime...

For the record, I'm playing on an old CRT 14-16 inch(on the diagonal) gateway monitor that came with some old intel celeron from like 15 years ago. The top centimeter or so is like "peeled" downwards in lines that overlap the top inch whee the picture starts.

TBH I need to get a new TV too, I still have this old phillips non HD job. It's 26" on the diagonal, and has good sound, and had good video for the N64/PS2/Game Cube era, but having to use this stupid converter box is getting to me. Also lately, the picture seems to just go out. The power will still be on and if I switch the channels it will come back, and if I sit there and mash the channel flip for about 5 minutes or so it will stay on, like it has to warm up for the picture to stay on, but sometimes it will just randomly go dark.... and I'll have to hit the recall button for awhile again...

Bottom line, Can I kill 2 birds with 1 stone here? Get a TV/Monitor type thing, or do they not do that yet?

We actually do, there's this badass real nebula, one of those hubble pics or something, gold clouds surrounding a red star. I don't think I have it on me but one of these guys is bound to... We made it into a .TGA insignia for our MW4 gaming. We even had an arena in MW4 with it in the center pit.

I'm back, sorry for the delay, I kept checking bp.net... Guild Wars 2 just got released and tribes ascend has been eating a lot of time. Now I need to figure ou if I want to buy my way into the MWO beta and if so, at what level... The atlas looks sooooo badass.
